Level 1 & 2 Electrical Works

Level 1 Services

Many years ago, Gosling Electrical’s first project was the installation of a power pole with a transformer to supply power to a rural farm dairy. Years have gone past since this first installation and now the companies profile includes projects such as hospitals, large commercial infrastructure upgrades, highway power relocations and large residential lot subdivisions. With this growth in mind, Gosling Electrical has still maintained its focus on where it all began….. both local and with a customer’s best interest in mind.

With solid relationships with our suppliers, designers, Essential Energy and other regulatory bodies, there are not many tasks that have not been undertaken by Gosling Electrical. With every projects commencement to completion, each success has been due to the open communication between all parties with the foremost focal point being the delivery of the desired outcome for a customer, at the best feasible outcome possible.

Our trump card; we specialise in design and construct projects with our in-house design team. Each project receives a quality assessment of the design prior to approval from Essential Energy by our senior construction staff to make sure that what is being proposed to be constructed, gets constructed. This liaising process also allows the construction team to come in line with the correct legal and procedural requirements of the design, within the constraints of the supply network.

Linesman, cable jointers and electricians make up our field staff, all of which hold the relevant high risk work licences required to carry out the tasks in each project. Every 12 months, each field staff member involved in the level 1 and 2 construction works undertakes mandatory training in both first aid and the electrical safety rules.  This training makes sure that we as a company are compliant with the current codes and are refreshed on the important updates and changes that have evolved over the previous 12 months.

We have been very fortunate to work for most of the Tier 1 and Tier 2 multinational and Australian companies. Some of these include but not limited to Abi Group, Lendlease, Leightons, O’Donnell Hanlon, Fulton Hogan, Acciona and Ferrovial, Richard Crooks, York Civil, Civil Mining Construction, Pacific Complete, and the Roads and Maritime Services direct. Gosling Electrical is proud to have contributed to multiple highway sections of relocations from Macksville to Ballina, the purpose of which is to increase the safety of the general public in traveling the Pacific Highway. As proud as we are to have worked for all plus more of these companies, we still consider the small property owners installation as having the same level of focus and importance.

From the installation of small pole mount transformers on private property, through to large paralleled pad mount kiosks, from single power pole installations through to multiple kilometres of cabling, from 2 lot subdivisions through to multistage master-planned minor suburb developments, nothing is too small or too large for our team of professionals.

Some further examples of installation types are:

  • Power pole

  •  Transformers both pole mounted and ground pad mount design

  •  Pillars and pits utilised in underground subdivisions such as commercial, industrial and residential

  • Underground and overhead reticulation

  • Highway augmentation works inclusive of township power line relocations

  • Street lighting for highway intersections, council roads and minor roads

  • Sports field power installations

  • Farm power and pump supplies

  • Large scale power installations such as hospitals, court house, manufacturing plants and schools

Level 2 Services

Trevor Gosling, our founder, was involved in the initial roll out of Level 2 Authorised Service Providers in the 90’s. We have a solid history in this specific roll of contestable services with his sealing pliers issued to him being number “006”, showing his longevity in its market. From here we have enrolled many of our staff to encompass all categories of connections, category 1, 2, 3, and 4. The flexibility of having multiple staff to carry out the connection of choice is a big benefit to customers as timing is an important factor in having your own work completed. We have the most level 2 authorised employees and competent assistants in the region so you can count on getting the job done when it is most important.

The value of our contribution to the Essential Energy network has also seen us being placed on the Level 2 Authorised Services Panel. This is a privilege to be allowed to conduct business direct to Essential Energy and the opportunity to be able and allowed too is something we are proud of.

Electricians and property owners in the region rely on Gosling Electrical to carry out the installation of underground and overhead cabling that connect from the street, to your commercial or residential premises. The role of the level 2 ASP is to be the link between Essential Energy’s distribution network on the street, to any premises that requires power. This typically requires the installation of metering equipment and lodgement of paperwork for registration of a connected customer.

We can also disconnect and reconnect power to home renovations and provide new overhead or underground power to both new and existing houses should maintenance, extensions or even temporary power is needed. Following the tempest storm that came through Coffs Harbour’s region which ruined roof’s, houses, and lost all forms of power from trees and debris, Gosling Electrical carried out the bulk replacement works for the majority of insurance companies via disconnect and reconnects. We were able to do this due to our ability to meet the timeframes with our many authorised licenced staff.

Some of the key features of a Level 2 ASP include:

  • Disconnect and reconnect of electrical services

  • Metering devices in switchboards

  • Upgrade, repairs and new metre boxes or major switchboards.

  • Installation of overhead cable

  • Installation of underground cabling

  • Sealing of service fuses and lodgement of associated paperwork to Essential Energy

  • Connection into electrical pits and pillars, plus pad mount substations
